to crate or not to crate, that is the question
"should i crate my dog?"
it's a question clients often ask me, but it's not a question i can answer with a yes or no.
it really depends on many factors: the dog, dog parents, schedule, and much more.
that said, in my experience as a dog trainer and parent, dogs that are crate trained to some extent tend to be the dogs that are potty trained the quickest with the greatest degree of success/consistency.
i have also found that the most well adjusted dogs are the ones who have been crate trained.
if you are on the fence, trying to figure out which way to go, "to crate, or not to crate," read on.

 puppy's best start program
i am so very excited to now offer a day training and socialization program for puppies
the first months of a puppy's life are by far the most important. what the puppy experiences, and how he is treated, can determine what kind of dog he will eventually become. as a trainer, most of the adult dog issues i am hired to help with (fear, aggression, reactivity to other dogs, troubles walking, barking, fear of kids, anxiety at the vet's office) could have been prevented altogether if the dog had only been given the proper, positive foundation. for many years, clients have been asking me if i could help provide that important day-to-day foundation work for their puppies, and now that dbf has her own home, the answer is a resounding, "yes."

there are simply not enough stars to describe how amazing rebecca mandell of dogs best friend is. she has been my go-to person every step of the way in my so far 14 month adventure with my adorable, boisterous, somewhat fearful, bouncy wheaton terrier puppy bruno. i contacted her before i got bruno and she helped me step by step through what equipment would be helpful for me to have on hand to bring him home to, what to feed him etc. we started one on one training with her just a few days after i got him. we enjoyed her sessions so much that we did two packages of private training and a pawlished puppy course. rebecca is a true dog lover and a wonderful person, anybody looking for help, training or anything puppy related she is your girl. you won't be disappointed .
