Participants in the 2016 Penguin Plunge prepare to take a dip in the chilly water at Heritage Harbor Ottawa Resort, all to benefit Make-A-Wish Illinois.
A little snow and freezing temps didn't stop more than 260 people from participating in the 5th annual Penguin Plunge in Ottawa, Ill. on Jan. 9 at Heritage Harbor Marina. Organized annually by Taylor Johnson client Heritage Harbor Ottawa Resort for Make-A-Wish®Illinois, the Penguin Plunge commits 100 percent of its raised funds to help Make-A-Wish grant wishes for children in LaSalle County and surrounding areas. Last year's Penguin Plunge raised over $96,000, making it the top community-organized fundraising event for Make-A-Wish in Illinois, and this year's event is thisclose to topping $100,000. To help reach that goal, online contributions can be made here before Jan. 24, with a final total announced at the After Plunge Party on Jan. 27. Congratulations to the Heritage Harbor team on another successful event!
