After inspiring a number of culinary trends across the country, foodies are now influencing something else: the restaurant offerings at regional and super-regional shopping centers. As Taylor Johnson clients HSA Commercial Real Estate and Englewood Construction explain to National Real Estate Investor, developers are increasingly using restaurants as a way to differentiate their centers from the competition and transform quick shopping trips into full-blown experiences designed to increase foot traffic and create a longer, more enjoyable length of stay for patrons. And rather than trying to predict the tastes of shoppers, developers like HSA are utilizing social media to solicit feedback from diners and identify specific brands and cuisines that are in the highest demand.
