Morgante Wilson Architects converted Bucktown's shuttered Get Me High Lounge into a stylish luxury single-family home.
Taylor Johnson client Morgante Wilson Architects has designed hundreds of fabulous editorial-worthy homes throughout Chicago and the Midwest, which makes our job a lot of fun. But when we learned the firm converted the former Get Me High Lounge into a 5,000-square-foot single-family, rock-memorabilia-filled home mere feet from the Bloomingdale Trail, we knew it was perfect for the "Mansion" section of The Wall Street Journal. And that's where the fun part of the story unfolds, as Morgante's Fred Wilson describes how the firm played off the homeowner's enthusiasm for life, including the potential water balloon or two.
