As the housing market continues to slowly recover, mortgage rates are creeping higher. Still low by historical standards, rates edged up to 3.53 percent this week, the first time the rate has been above 3.5 percent since September. Of course, as rates are increasing, mortgage applications are decreasing, reports the Chicago Tribune.
