Start of a New Church Year
People are coming back from vacation and getting ready for fall. All the things that make church, church are starting up - worship, religious education, social just work, board and committee meetings, choir and music. What new ideas are floating around? What transformation are we going to be willing to make and what will be keep as before? So much ahead for all of us.

NEW! BCD Blog and Twitter Launched
The Ballou Channing District has launched a blog - www.bcduuablog.org. The blog will be used to provide resource articles about topics such as leadership, church operations, religious education, fund raising and information and announcements about workshops and events to congregation leaders and others. Several articles are already posted.
The blog will be accessible through the BCD website - www.bcduua.org. A listing of the last 10 blog posts will appear on the website home page. It can also be subscribed to directly by clicking on the "Follow" link on the blog page. The blog is open to anyone. Additionally, postings will automatically be sent to the BCD Facebook page and a notice about a new posting will go out on Twitter@bcduua.
This blog will not supplant the BCD in Brief, but will enhance the distribution of information within the district.

BCD Facebook Page Continues to be Active
New information is continually being posted on the BCD Facebook page, (http://www.facebook.com/bcduua) such as a story about Tucson, AZ becoming an immigrant welcoming city, shared via Standing on the Side of Love. Being connected to the BCD Facebook is a good way to get information quickly. The Facebook page delivers to an individual's computer news, updates about events and resource information links to the UUA. If you are on Facebook, "LIKE" our district's page and start to automatically get new posted information. |
GA Reunion at Fall Conference
If you went to the 2012 Justice GA plan to come to the "BCD GA Reunion" to be held on October 20 as part of the BCD Fall Conference. Come to reconnect with other BCD GA'ers, talk about what you and your congregation may be planning for immigration justice work this year and perhaps join a task force to plan a BCD immigration justice conference in 2013. Staff at the UUA and Beacon Press have assembled resources and reports from Justice GA to help congregations continue (start) the journey to immigration justice. It is available at http://www.uua.org/ga/2012/business/209020.shtml
