Members' Corner
Todd Porter
H.T. Prof Executive Search
Winston-Salem, NC

I started H.T. PROF Executive Search in 1997. In 2000 I picked up my first Israeli customer and over the past 14 years I've worked with more than 200 Israeli companies hiring in the United States.

I tell people that I had two Israeli customers when I met Tom Glaser at the Chamber and the next thing I knew, I was on a plane to Israel. That pretty much sums up how my journey working with Israeli companies started.

I've made 12 trips to Israel and each has been significant in growing my business and personally rewarding. My first KEY if you want to work with the Israelis is, you have to go to Israel.

I've traveled to Israel with AICC on several occasions and though I now make most of my trips on my own, I could never have gotten to the point I'm at without the guidance and assistance from the Chamber.

AICC also provides me a finger on the pulse of what's happening between Israel and the U.S. and especially here in the Southeast. In the Connector meetings I often hear of companies that are looking to land in the U.S. or if I hear of an interesting Israeli company, I'll call the Chamber to see if they know them.

I always tell people two things about AICC. One is that AICC is the best 'Chamber' in Atlanta and probably the Southeast if not the whole U.S. It's a place where things get done. Secondly, I tell them it's a chamber where if you put effort in, you get it back many times over. I know both of these things are true from my own experiences.

I still try to travel to Israel at least once a year. This year, I will be in Israel from the 17th of May. If you are in Israel and would like to meet during this period, contact me directly at 770-420-7440 or via e-mail at tsporter@htprof.com

Here are some of my KEYS to being successful in working with Israeli companies:

1) YOU HAVE TO GO TO ISRAEL

2) Nothing happens quickly

3) You never know which contact will become a home run

4) Think Long Term relationship

5) Be active in AICC
