One Year After the Fire
News from the South Pacific Islands
02 May 2015
The room that Loni's family lived in burns

It's just over a year since Loni and his family lost everything in a house fire in Tonga. [ read here ] Now they have a new home.
It's hard to find a good house to rent in the South Pacific Islands. They are either being used by the local families who built them, or they are built for westerners and command a high rent.
But Loni and Fani have found a very nice home for their family (of three girls) and with good space for their ministry. (They oversee Pacific Partners' many discipleship groups in Tonga.)

Here is what Loni emailed -

Loni's new home and office
It's a large home by Tongan standards with room for Loni's study and for leadership
and counseling meetings

"Since [the fire] . . . my family are all living in one room. 5 of us plus our belonging are stack up in one room. No room to prepare my study for the ministry. We hold our leadership meeting and private counseling in different places in peoples home.

That is why I was praying for a house for my family and for the discipleship ministry.

[Now, a Tongan] family migrate to NZ and they offer us their house for rent. The house is a 3 bedroom and a good place for bible study also a good space outside a tent for bigger meeting.

Loni concludes -
Our ministry keeps growing and I believe this year will be a fruitful year of service so we need a good place like this to operate from.
The rent is TOP$400 monthly.
(TOP $400 is USD $200; NZD and AUD $250 a month.)
Would you please prayerfully
consider
helping Loni and Fane
pay their rent each month?

Loni and Fane work for Pacific partners as full-time volunteers. They only get occasional financial support from our supporters (people like you) and sometimes from the people they serve in Tonga.

Their rent (TOP $400, or USD $250, or NZD & AUD $200 a month isn't a lot to many of us, but it is a huge amount for them to try and find each month.

We want Loni and Fane to focus on growing leaders, as well as the pastoral care and discipleship of our radio listeners, which is so necessary in a country where this ministry is not available from the churches.

Would you please consider making a regular gift each month.
