Young people everywhere you look

One of the first things that impresses you when you visit the islands is the number of young people. Kids everywhere! This is really noticeable in town when school comes out.

Most pacific families live in poor and cramped conditions, and families are large. There is little employment and few real prospects for most Pacific Island young people.

Did you know

the Islands have among the highest youth suicide rates in the world? But there is also a lot of good news . . .

It's heart breaking

to realize that most of the young people in the Islands are raised in church - yet still they commit suicide. Raised in church but not meeting their Savior!

Does this weigh heavily on your heart? It does on mine! If we are serious about discipleship, then we must not overlook the young people.

Outside of Christ

there is no real hope for these young people.

But in Christ
what a force for change they can be in their nations!
