I met Katea last November in the Islands. It was mango season and she'd heard how much I liked mangoes, so she sent some with the people who came to meet me at the airport. Then next day, I met her at the radio station. (She had four more fat, juicy mangoes waiting for me.) She was on air, but I found time to ask "How did you come to be working as a radio host on the Christian radio station?"

Katea had been very sick. The doctor had said she would not live for long. But then she met Jesus, and He gave her new life - new love for others; new energy; and a new purpose. She told me of her gratitude for the opportunity to tell her people, over the radio, about what Jesus had done for her.
I heard a lot of her program that day. I don't understand her language but there was no mistaking the joy and compassion in her voice as she spoke to her listeners, and over the phone to her callers.
Two words I do understand - "Sisu Kalaisi" (Jesus Christ). I heard His name often in her words.
That's the way it is with our Pacific Partners radio hosts.
We offer no careers and have no place for professionals. We find ordinary people whose lives have been dramatically changed by Jesus. Ordinary people - but passionate to tell others what Jesus has done. Ordinary people - but skilled at sharing their daily ups and downs as they learn to walk with Jesus.
An Extra-ordinary God at work in the lives of ordinary people who are like us! That's where the Gospel is most clearly seen. And powerfully received!
