Wild Weather in Tonga                                    07 March 2013

Greetings!

Please pray for the old wooden radio station building in Tonga.

The rain is heavy and the building is leaking. Local flooding is so bad that some of our staff cannot get to the station for their programs. And now the wind is rising . . .

Old wooden studio building
Our old wooden radio station in Tonga

Please do pray for us here at the Radio, it has been raining for almost 3 weeks now and strong wind is just increasing. Our concern is our Station building.

I talked to Willy on the phone about this. he was standing outside the studio in ankle-deep water and I could hardly hear him over the wind on his cell phone.

Tonga's main Island of Tongatapu is very flat and the water table is only 18 inches (45 centimeters) below the ground at the radio station. In other words, it quickly floods and slowly drains!

We are almost ready to replace the old building [ read ].
In the meantime Willy, his staff and the listeners are praying for a miracle to protect it and the radio equipment inside.
