IMQ Psoriasis Model
Psoriasis is one of the most common immune-mediated chronic inflammatory skin disorders involved in the dysregulated interplay between immune cells and keratinocytes. Topical application of immiquimod (IMQ), a TLR 7/8 ligand and potent immune activator, on mouse skin can induce psoriasis.
IMQ-Induced psoriasis is a useful mouse model for evaluation of new therapies for psoriasis and dermatitis. Washington Biotechnology is pleased to offer this model.

IMQ-induced psoriasis Model in Balb/c mice
Study period: two weeks
Basic Read-outs: erythema, scaling, thickness of the back skin, and ear thickness
Optional:
Back skin and ear tissue histology (Epidermal thickening in back and ear skin, hyperproliferative keratinocytes, abnormal keratinocyte differentiation with marked parakeratosis).
----------------------------------------------
Comparison of erythema, scaling and thickness of the back skin with IMQ application and vaseline cream
(as control) and prednisone treatment
