This WSI Play By Play includes an assembly of turkey photos from this spring season. We recently wrapped a great turkey season, with hunters enjoying high success rates. The majority of the birds that we harvested were 3 year olds, which generally sport 9" - 10" beards with spurs averaging 1 1/8" - 1 1/4". We had a group of 4 hunters who hunted the La Joya Division of H. Yturria Ranch and they shots birds with 6 beards, 4 beards, 3 beards, and 2 beards.....that's a heckuva lot of turkey beards on one hunt! Many of our turkey hunters have already rebooked for next spring, so let us know if you would like to get on our books for next year.

We continue to receive great rains around the state. The range conditions are in excellent shape in most areas and things are shaping up for us to perhaps have the best antler growth year that we have seen since 2010. We are also anticipating a great hatch on turkey and quail. The year of 2015 will likely be one of those years where you do not want to miss your Texas hunt.

We still have some pronghorn antelope hunts available for this season in New Mexico, and with the good number of 4 year old bucks we carried over from last year, it should be a great year for our pronghorn hunters to take some really good quality bucks, so please let us know if you are interested in a fun hunt for these speed goats. We also have room for some September and October aoudad hunts, not to mention the various other hunts which are part of our normal entr�e of options. So, please let us know if you would like to take a look at some options. 

For anyone who has a group looking for a season lease, we have two great options. There is a 15,600 acre property near Barnhart that includes new lodge, 15 blinds and feeders, barn for storage, and year-around access. Great white-tailed deer, lots of quail, turkey, and dove. Price is $5.50 per acre and we might consider dividing, into two parcels, with the larger parcel having access to the lodge. We also have 4000 acres available near Sterling City, priced at $3500 per gun for 6 guns, with cabin and year-around access. Big deer and decent quail hunting available on this property.
