We trust that you are doing well and have hopefully received your share of the nice rains we have been receiving.

We have been busy with some nilgai hunts over the last few months, principally on El Sauz Division of East Wildlife Foundation. Just in the last few days, we have received a green light to book a few nilgai hunts at H. Yturria properties near Raymondville, so please let us know if you have some interest in a possible nilgai hunt for April.

As you can see, we have also taken some slammer aoudads over the last few months. We still have a few openings for these sheep hunts between now and the end of May, so please let us know if you would like to slip in an aoudad hunt sometime soon. These are simply outstanding hunts for a unique animal in spectacular country.

The rains have been very generous in recent months over much of Texas. This is the best spring that we have had since 2010, and perhaps as good as 2007 in some locales. Much of the state is lush with green foliage and we are expecting a great year for antlers and nesting success for turkey and quail.

We'll be posting some turkey photos in the next few weeks and are off to a great start in the south zone with our first group of 4 hunters taking 8 birds, 4 of which had multiple beards! We still have a few turkey openings if you are interested.

Cheers,

Your Friends at WSI

Great Eastern Turkey Hunt in Oklahoma

We are pleased to be able to offer an exceptional turkey hunting package for Eastern strain turkeys near Ada, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Trophy Ranch comprises approximately 3,000 acres, situated in Hughes, Coal, and Pontotoc Counties and is strictly managed for wildlife. This is a beautiful property with dense stands of hardwoods, rolling hills, over 25 lakes and ponds, and 2.5 miles of Muddy Boggy Creek meandering through the property. Extensive wildlife habitat work and supplemental feeding has resulted in an abundance of turkeys. Hunters will have access to a very nice lodge which is fully furnished. The hunt package is set up as an unassisted hunt package which includes lodging and access to the ranch, but hunters do their own guiding and cooking. Here is what the basic outline looks like:

  • You can choose two different 3-day hunt periods.
  • Lodging is included.
  • A harvest quota is set at a maximum of 10 birds, with no more than 5 hunters at any given time.
  • Hunters provide their own groceries and do their own cooking.
  • Season is from April 6 - May 6. Hunters may take up to 2 birds each, depending upon portion of ranch...inquire.
  • This could be set up as a corporate deal for entertaining clients or for a group of buddies.
  • Fee:  $6000 total, plus $150 lodge cleaning fee after each use.

So, if you are looking for a great turkey hunt with some flexibility on dates, this is a great option to consider.   Call Greg Simons today at 325-655-0877.
