DECEMBER 2013 EVENTS

xmasWednesday, December 25, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. 10th Annual Non-denominational Jewish Christmas Party!

Yes - it's been 10 years that we have been hosting this gathering at breathe books! I started this event on December 25, 2004 because, as a Jew, I have always felt a little lonely on Christmas. I wanted a place to hang out with others who also felt a little left out. So instead watching Christmas Parades and listening to Christmas music, we gather to in a secular atmosphere and enjoy food and good

 company.

Please bring a vegetarian dish to share. We will also have food and drink from the cafe for sale. As always, music by the fabulous Michael Raitzyk, Judith Geller and their kids at 1:30!

By the way, we call this a Jewish Christmas party because traditionally we have Chinese food and show a movie -- a well-known Jewish tradition! We've evolved, though, into all sorts of vegetarian food and this year we will not screen a movie. We will focus on noshing and kibbitzing instead!

Proceeds will benefit Doctors Without Borders. We look forward to seeing you! Hosted by Susan Weis-Bohlen and Larry Bohlen, who will be making awesome espresso shots to sample!

Enjoy some clips about Jewish Christmas:
