Greetings!

Hello! I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving. I love the fresh cool morning air, the crunch of the leaves underfoot, the root vegetables and winter greens that are making their way up in the garden. Look for the seasonal foods when cooking and your body will be so happy to be in harmony with the season. If you have a favorite Vegetarian recipe to share please post it on our Facebook page! I love to see what people are cooking!

So the new tradition for the start of the holiday shopping season is Shop Small Saturday! Lots of Hampden business are offering special sales and treats throughout the weekend including breathe books! See our coupon at the end of this email.

Also, check out the Hampden First Fridays Facebook page for more deals. But really, the best deal is YOU making the conscious choice to shop local. You keep us here, vibrant and thriving!

This is our 9th Holiday season and I cannot thank you enough! When you come by in the next few weeks we will have some sneak previews of the goodies we will be serving in the breathe cafe! By the way, our cafe will be serving vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and Ayurvedic goodies -- and NO WHITE SUGAR OR WHITE FLOUR!! Lots of beans, grains and greens, scones, muffins, granola, soups, juices, coffee bar and more!

And remember -- you don't have to buy your books online! Come in and browse and my staff and I will put the best book for you directly in your hand! If we don't have it, we can order it. Most books arrive in a few days - no extra shipping charges ever!! We've already received lots of great books (and gifts!) for the holidays so come on by!

Have a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. Check out our events  below for November and December.

Love to all!

Nondenominational Party 2009 Can you believe this is our 9th Holiday Party! This is the perfect place to be on Christmas Day for those of you who really don't have much to do! As a Jewish girl growing up in Pikesville, I learned that Christmas Day, while inclusive and fun for many families, left a lot of out feeling excluded from the festivities. So when I opened breathe books I made a commitment to create a warm place for all to gather on this day when it seems like the whole world is closed! So we celebrate in the "Jewish" tradition, with Chinese Food and a movie! And, as always, music with the fabulous Michael Raitzyk and his incredibly talented daughter Rebecca Rose (1:30 pm - 2 pm). The film is TBA, and will be shown at 2 pm. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share. This is always a lovely day and I hope you can join us!

In the meantime, enjoy these videos!:  Jewish ChristmasAll I Want for Christmas is to be Jewish; and Baltimore's own,  Chinese Food for Christmas!

Cost: free/donation from purchases will be made to charity.
