THRIFT STORE
Fridays: 2 to 4-hour shifts between 9am-6pm. Saturdays*: 2 to 4-hour shifts between 9am-5pm.
*Looking for regular weekly/bi-weekly and/or monthly Saturday volunteers who will assist in directing our short-term volunteers (usually students) with their "job assignments". These individuals need to be knowledgeable about the operations of the store including what donations the Thrift Store does and does not accept and be willing to commit at least one or more Saturdays a month to volunteering between the hours of 10am and 4pm. If interested in volunteering, please contact Annette Bosley.

Client Testimony
Alice, a single mother of 3 approached WFCM from one of our supporting churches. The church had been supporting this family for 3 years while she worked on becoming stable. Alice came to this country through an arranged marriage where she gave birth to 2 children. Her husband divorced her and she remarried and gave birth to a third child. She converted to Christianity. The church helped relocate her to the Herndon area so she would have access to public transportation and be closer to the congregation. Alice is now looking for work. She speaks fluent French and English. A few of the church volunteers are helping her learn to read and write in English and are teaching her computer skills.
As her financial situation was not improving, a meeting was set with Alice, her church sponsor, the Fairfax County Faith-Based Liaison, a case manager from Shelter House and WFCM. Alice is on her way to becoming self-sufficient and is blessed to have the support and encouragement of these organizations.

2013 Bread & Water Campaign
Partner with Us to Help Our Neighbors in Need NOW through MAY!!
You can be a great source of hope for families who are facing financial hardships, but are working hard to make 2013 a better year. Your generosity provides our clients with help and the hope to perservere.
This financial campaign is vital to WFCM to help our neighbors in need achieve financial stability. We cannot administer our programs without the continued encouragement and support of our community and appreciate the gifts that you contribute to this campaign.
How the Bread and Water Campaign Works:
- Distribute water bottles to congregation members and employees and ask them to fill the bottles with change, dollars and checks (please make checks payable to WFCM).
- Take change to a coin counting facility and obtain a check for the donation.
- Contact WFCM to pick up donations by campaign end date.
If you are interested in participating in the 2013 Bread and Water Campaign or have general questions or comments, please contact Jennie Bush today.
