Dress for Success Charlotte

15 Years Helping Women Secure Employment, Achieve Economic Independence and Strengthen Families

FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Kerry Barr O'Connor

The second half of the year is upon us and we are revving up the engines.  We are riding high on the most recent hire rates among our Going Places Network members - an amazing 82% - and gearing up for two very special events.

On September 24, we celebrate our 15th Anniversary at the Ultimate Power Lunch sponsored by Wells Fargo.  Highlights of the event include an incredible testimonial from a woman who has been utilizing Dress for Success services for more than 14 years and has broken the chains of poverty that have plagued her family for generations.

We are also honoring one of

Charlotte's leading ladies

- Mary Lou Babb -

We will recognize the work she has done to help link individual and corporate philanthropy with social needs activism, along with her rich history of empowering women.  Mary Lou is a founding member of the Dress for Success Charlotte Community Advisors and a founding member of the

Women's Impact Fund.

And let's not forget the inspiring stories of clients

we will hear as part of this year's

"Faces of Dress for Success" Fashion Show

sponsored by Belk, Inc.

We invite all of our friends and supporters to join us for this milestone event.

We are also looking forward to hosting the

2015 Dress for Success Worldwide Affiliate Conference right here in Charlotte

October 25 - 28, 2015!

We look forward to welcoming our sister affiliates from 20 countries around the world, including Poland, Israel, South Korea, New Zealand, and Singapore.

One of our responsibilities as host is to identify and recruit talent to bring expertise to our affiliates from various industries and who can speak to Best Practices in all areas of operations.  We love that we are helping to expand the arsenal of resources and tools affiliates will be bringing back to their own communities to help empower women.

According to the Convention and Visitors Bureau, the economic impact on Charlotte from this international conference will be substantial.

Our little engine is making a big impact

in the lives of our clients and throughout

the Greater Charlotte community!
