Santa Arrives on 8th Street, SE, Saturday, 12-15-12
From 1:30PM to 3:30PM Tell Santa What YOU Want!

Our neighborhood fire house here on Barracks Row is helping Santa out this year. Because we have no snow yet Santa's sleigh and team of reindeer had to be left at the North Pole.  But  DC Fire Station, Engine Company 18 has offered to give Santa a ride in their fire truck. This Saturday Santa will be set up in his work shop on the corner of 8th and G Streets, SE, (in front of the Old City Bank) from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to hear from local kids and pets about what they want for the holidays.

Barracks Row Main Street's photographer will be on hand to take free pictures for parents to download later. Ted's Bulletin is providing cookies, hot chocolate and coffee; CSX will have a crafts table plus a toy train set up and running at the work shop. The train set will be raffled during the event. Caroling by Hill Center's "Ready for Prime Time Players"  begins at 2:15 p.m.

Santa Arrives on 8th Street contributes toys to the US Marine Corps' Toys for Tots. Don't forget to bring an unused toy to Santa's workshop for those in need.

Meanwhile right across the street, cookie decorating hosted by Spring Mill Bread begins at noon.  Spring Mill Bread furnishes the Gingerbread Men, icing, and sprinkles - you do the rest!
