Superheroes in 2010 ParadeThe Capitol Hill 4th of July Parade on Barracks Row sponsored by Naval Lodge #4 Freemasons and Tiber Creek Associates of Capitol Hill will begin at 10 AM sharp tomorrow. Leading the parade from it's staging area under the 295 freeway at 8th and I Streets, SE, will be Co-Grand Marshals Tommy Wells, Ward 6, DC Council Member and Carroll Collins of Navy Lodge # 4 Freemasons. The parade ends at the Eastern Market Metro Plaza. Barracks Row, 8th Street, SE, will be closed to traffic between Pennsylvania Avenue and I Street, SE, during the parade.

The parade will also feature The Commandant's Own Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as contestants from each state in the Miss United States Pageant.  By far the largest category in the parade are the individual floats, all homemade, as well as groups of kids and adults marching together including Princess Patrols, Super Heroes, Dog Walkers with their costumed dogs, and the entire cast of Star Wars. The Capitol Hill Business Improvement District whose ambassadors staff the information tent at the Eastern Market Metro Plaza every weekend (weather permitting) will not only be in the parade but will also be the first on the street to put Barracks Row back in order again after the parade is over.

Co-sponsors include Barracks Row Main Street, CSX, The Hill Rag, Rob Bergman and the National Community Church.
