HOTBED2014@CASALIN - THE COLONY, EN PLEIN AIR
HOTBED 2014, the annual exhibition of exceptional New World School of the Arts BFA visual arts seniors and alumni, will be presented at Lin Lougheed's CasaLin outdoor art space in Wynwood on the opening morning of Art Basel Miami Beach, following the project's successful staging there last year. This is the fifth consecutive year for HOTBED, developed and produced by Wet Heat Project's Bill Bilowit under the guidance and oversight of NWSA Dean of Visual Arts Maggy Cuesta. This year's concept explores the phenomena of the art colony as rooted in historical tradition, its core aspects of peer community, fundamental patronage and zealousness remaining at the core of artist, art professional and collector relationships today.

Reception and show are free and open to the public

FREDRIC SNITZER "STILL CRAZY..." RECENT WORKS
"The work presented embodies and denotes the happiest I have been with regards to process in forty-four years.  Informed intuition is at the root of what you see. So many years of looking, thinking, and producing artwork have opened the door to an investigation that feels fresh, free, and unencumbered. I am of an age where I instinctively feel liberated to pursue a quality and proficiency in terms of process that until now was restrained by self-consciousness and timidity."
--- Fred Snitzer 2014

Opening Reception: December 4; 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
