It's the last Feng Shui Friday in September.  Autumn officially arrived on Sunday, September 22.  Mother Nature is changing her colors, days are getting shorter and we are heading indoors.  Earth and Metal elements encourage us to gather our energy, move inward, and pay attention to communication, discernment and focus -- with ourselves and with others.

This month I've shared  thoughts and offered tips on how to declutter our heart space and create good emotional feng shui.  In this last week of decluttering emotionally, before moving on in the series -- mind, heart, body and spirit -- take a look at these ideas for setting loving intentions the feng shui way.

It's all connected.  When I help clients organize and feng shui an office or home, one important step is to clear out the center of the room and clear off the center of the desk.  On the ba-gua the center is the Health and Heart area.  For optimum health, our hearts require unrestricted flow to keep blood pumping and circulating.  Because what happens in our outside environment directly affects what's going on inside -- physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually -- decluttering the Health gua in our physical space directly affects our hearts.  Take a look at what's going on in the center of your home, your office, your desk, and other rooms.  Make some changes, de-clutter, clean or sweep this area to create open heart space for love and good intentions.

Focused energy gets focused results.  Over dinner with my friend Jane, this week, our conversation headed toward mutual career changes.  We realized as soon as we start thinking about scaling back or seeking other career options, suddenly the phone is ringing and emails are requesting a speaking engagement or consulting services.  While I often thought of this as a sign that maybe I'm not supposed to look in a different direction after all, Jane reminded me of something extraordinary: energy attracts energy.  Even if you're thinking about going into a different business your energy/thoughts are on your business, so that attracts energy to the business -- whether you want it or not.  Love, fear, loneliness, worry, guilt, or excitement?  Focused intention on the things you want or don't want pull the chi energy toward that thought.  In my book Hey! It's Feng Shui Friday (Week 17) I shared Dr. Wayne Dyers principles of getting what you really really want or don't want based on how you're thinking.   You always have the choice of how to follow through.  On what are you focusing your energy?

Focused energy on Love.  Let's follow through on love intentions.  The Heart is the symbol for love.  Because everything is connected, spread some hearts around so what you see is what you get.  How about a Heart Leaf Philodendron plant?  Add a heart-shaped basket or box to your décor.  I've pulled out the heart charm bracelet a friend gave me years ago: dozens of different sized and shaped brass hearts on a chain.  Cut out heart shapes and put them under your place mats or seat cushions.  Find a heart-shaped stone to put in your wallet.  Where intention goes, energy flows.  

Over the past several weeks you've opened your heart space, and decluttered what you didn't love, use, or need. Now you can encourage love with intentions to fill your heart.  Take action to declutter further or add a heart here or there.  Watch for focused energy to invite focused results.
