Greetings!
Yeah, it's another Feng Shui First Friday. And another opportunity to ring in the New Year--the feng shui way. Many of you may know that Chinese New Year is celebrated at the Lunar New Moon, which changes every year. This year it's February 10.
If you didn't have time to set your intentions and goals on January 1 it's not too late. Take the opportunity to revisit last month's recommendations or consider these additional tips to create an environment that supports who you are and where you're going in 2013.
Happy Chinese New Year!

Feng Shui Tip of the Week
| |
I just finished listening to Denise Linn's 3-week on-line course "Cooking up a Fabulous Year". Not only did she and her daughter Meadow share tips from their new The Mystic Cookbook: The Secret Alchemy of Food, which is just beautiful (and only $20), as always she shared some especially interesting ways to support your intentions (with new ways of thinking) and "step into your majesty" this year.
1. Not why but how. Never ask yourself "why" you can't do something because it "presupposes the focus of the question and affirms you are that way". If you ask why am I not losing weight or why is my business not growing, or why is my life so cluttered, you "presuppose" that truth for yourself. Instead ask HOW. How can I be more abundant? How can I be more slender and healthy? How can I find more clients? How can I let go of too much stuff? Immediately your mind will go to work to help you find out "how" and begin searching for answers...because you "presuppose" you already are slender and healthy, finding more clients, getting rid of stuff, abundant.
2. Celebrate when others succeed. There is enough to go around. When others' success is celebrated "life hears and catapults you into new opportunities. Sincere and genuine congratulations (an act of power) removes jealousy so it doesn't affect your ability to succeed too." You've heard me say a hundred times, "where intention goes, energy flows". Feng shui is defined as the 'art of placement'. When you place your genuine intentions for the success of your friends and business colleagues with power, you send that energy to them and draw it to yourself as well.
3. Act as if. Denise says that the simple act of imagining that you already have what you desire generates the energy to manifest it. This can be achieved in your body language, the way you think (feng shui as metaphor), and what's going on in your environment. Denise suggests you hold your body "as if" you are already healthy, confident, abundant, feeling incredible. How would your body look when you FEEL this way? Standing or sitting taller? Chin up? Shoulders back? Practice! Act as if. Then be aware of the way you talk and think. In my book, Weeks 18 and 25, you are encouraged to pay attention to your words because they may show up in your environment. Create a mind-set and an environment that supports who you are and where you are going. Act as if you are already there.
This week each time you go to your car to head for work or errands, practice walking the way you would if you felt more confident, successful, abundant, happy, incredible. And like the children who remind their parents when they use 'bad' words to put 'bad word' money in the jar, stop and listen to how you are talking to yourself. What if you had to pay someone for negative thinking? Add one thing in your home or office (a book, fresh fruit, a money jar, a list of potential clients) to shift the energy toward new ideas, new ways of thinking and the New Year you are creating.
Until next month

New Year Celebrations, Rituals and Preparations
| ~Ring bells or burn sage throughout your home and/or office to clear the energy and invite fresh energy for the New Year.
~Place a crystal bowl filled with sea salt on the floor in the middle of a room(s). Leave 24 hours to absorb old energy (salt is a natural cleansing agent). Flush after 24-hours.
~Rearrange furniture, your desk, a bookshelf, or decor to set your intentions for the New Year and shift the energy from the past to the future.
~Add a new color in your space(s) to set the intention for your 2013 focus: Growth (green or blue), Abundance (purple), Focus (metallic, gray or white), Understanding (black), Expansion and Energy (red), Health (yellow or earth tones).
~Soak in the bath to wash away the past. Or use a body brush to brush away the old as you let the shower send it down the drain.
