Open House and Rally A Success

Thanks to everyone who helped out on Sunday.

Sunday September 7th from 5 to 7pm

Worship is more than Sunday mornings from 9 to 12:15pm. Be it the clean linens, the printing of the bulletin, the right color paraments, the audio-visual preparation and execution, the care and direction of our acolytes, the smiling face at the door, the polishing of the candlesticks or the ordering of the flowers, we follow proven modes of worship that support UMC beliefs and fulfill Methodist doctrine in our planning here at

First United Methodist Church of Winter Garden.

Worship is more than the sermon, the music or even the order of the service. The effectiveness of our servant leadership in worship depends on the support leadership for Efficiency, Flow, and Genuine Hospitality! These components are critical to our goal of maintaining a worship environment that is Passionate and Inspiring!

Your FUMCWG Worship Planning Committee is inviting the currently serving Worship Team as well as past servants or interested congregation members of ALL AGES to join us in this information session on our support service needs! If you have always wondered how you or your child might serve the church in one of these roles or you have been doing it for a hundred years and would like to learn new tricks, your Worship Planning Committee wants you to put this event on your calendar-NOW!

Since this is a METHODIST function, you will need to bring a dish (one that has food in it!) to share! Paper products and Beverages will be provided. We will arrive and eat at 5pm, hear a brief introduction and then move to the sanctuary for breakout sessions on particular areas of worship support. We are particularly interested in having our Ushers and Greeters present for a session with Pastor as well as updating information for our team leaders! Liturgists will also get some practice time and review.

Donations will be accepted at the door on the night of the event.

We are looking for volunteers to decorate tables. You select the college for your table and provide table service for eight (paper/plastic plates, cups, napkins, utensils, tablecloth and centerpiece). Volunteers are also needed to provide yummy desserts. To volunteer to decorate a table or bring a dessert
email Cathy Restivo at  [email protected]

Help support the youth of our church.

Wear your college colors.
East Central District Training Event

Kylie Foley, Imagine No Malaria Field Coordinator,
has two "Africate" (Volunteer Training) scheduled in our District!

September 11th
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
October 7th
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

We would love to have you join us to learn more about Malaria and how you and your church can help?  It would be great to have several from each church come out, so you can bring the ideas and information back to your church.
100 lives can be saved with $1,000.

Imagine No Malaria is the extraordinary effort of the people of the United Methodist Church to eradicate malaria, a preventable treatable disease caused by the bite of an infected mosquito.  91% of malaria deaths are pregnant women and children under 5. The United Methodist Church has raised over $61 million of its $75 million goal to help end malaria.

The Florida Conference officially launched our campaign to help save 250,000 lives from malaria at the 2014 Annual Conference this June.  Bishop Carter called for state-wide support of Imagine No Malaria, and asks for 100% commitment from churches.

We have the resources and the passion to help end malaria for the glory of Christ. Visit Imagine Florida  for information on how your church can get involved today!
