What a better way to spend your summers than a multi-day residence workshop developed by the Northern California Society of American Foresters, University of California Cooperative Extension, Shasta County Office of Education, The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, and Project Learning Tree.

FIT is a wonderful opportunity to train educators on
forest ecology and forest resource management practices which they can take into their classrooms and pass on to their students. Spots are still available so take the initiative and sign up for this awesome experience!

There are four total FIT Sessions for the Northern California Area: 
  • June 12-18, Plumas County
  • June 19-25, Tuolumne County
  • June 26-July 2, Shasta County
  • July 10-16, Humboldt County

    The Chico Creek Nature Center is filled with wonderful opportunities for kids of all ages. Summer camps range from day camps to month long activities which allow kids to be immersed in the beauty of Chico's Bidwell Park and more!

    The Northern California Environmental Grassroots Fund supports small grassroots groups throughout greater northern California that are tackling tough environmental problems including toxic pollution, urban sprawl, sustainable agriculture, climate change, environmental degradation of our rivers and wild places, as well as, of our communities.
    The objective of this Grant is to provide funding for groups to strengthen California's environmental movement, introduce new training opportunities, enable community involvement in local environmental initiatives, as well as offer scholarships to develop skills necessary in working with volunteers, communication, strategic planning and budgeting.   Deadline is AUGUST 1ST! So don't miss this wonderful opportunity!
