Blueprint for Environmental Literacy
"Now is the moment to elevate environmental literacy as an essential element of a 21st century education in California, and to establish the leadership, collaboration, strategic partnerships and necessary funding to ensure environmental literacy for all California students." Tom Torlakson, State Superintendent
"To become environmentally literate, learners need to engage with the environment in their classrooms, in gardens and green spaces, in their communities, at aquariums and science centers, and in wild and natural places," says Craig Strang, cochair of the Literacy Task Force and Lawrence Hall of Science associate director.
