We are so lucky in San Diego in the winter. With the mountains, beaches, and deserts we get to experience every aspect of winter fun outdoors. Snow, surprise beach days, and chilly mornings. Use San Diego Children and Nature (a local CREEC partner) to find your closest local nature area. While there take a look at the new videos about local nature or research best practices for taking your students outdoors!

Nature Educators Collaborative Workshop
In November, four of our local Environmental Educators came together to share their programs with elementary teachers in the context of the Next Generation Science Standards! Thirty 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers had the opportunity to experience PEAK student energy actions, EEI curriculum, Project Swell, SD Children and Nature, and NGSS professional development. The workshop was located at the amazing SDG&E Energy Innovation Center which itself was an educational experience. We looking forward to offering more collaborative workshops among our partners to share all of the environmental education opportunities available in San Diego!
