Upcoming Workshops and Events:
 
G.O. Network Mixer - Cultural Relevancy: Expanding Your Cultural Reach 
Feb 18th * 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services Community Room 

Join us for the first 2015 Get Outdoors Network Mixer - gathering for teachers and organizations who engage youth in our region through meaningful outdoor experiences in their schools, programs, neighborhoods and beyond. During this convening we will highlight the latest field research with a focus on the experiences of youth of color in the outdoors. We will also tour the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services, learning about resources for youth and families as well as service learning opportunities. We only meet a few times a year so don't miss this opportunity to learn, share, meet other educators/community leaders and be inspired to more fully engage more youth in the outdoors! Registration is free!
 



Feb 21 * 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
S.C.O.E.

Becoming a PEAK Teacher will give you the tools to make the science of energy more engaging while meeting Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards. Your lessons will inspire students to become environmental stewards and explore green careers. Professional Education hours available. $100 stipend provided. Registration is FREE & includes lunch.

A Garden in Every School Symposium 

March 14-15 at The Met Sacramento. Registration is $60 for the entire weekend, including most meals, scholarships may be available. Workshops, Success Stories, Panel  Discussion, Best Practices, Information Booths, Delicious Food! Network with like-minded teachers, parents, garden designers, community leaders, school garden coordinators, and others involved with helping kids make the connection between food, health and the environment.
