The Environmental Literacy Task Force

Development of a new Science Framework for implementing the California Next Generation Science Standards   

 

The fourth meeting of the Science Curriculum Framework and Evaluation Criteria Committee (CFCC) was on January 22-23.

Revision of the History-Social Science Curriculum Framework for California Public Schools  

 

The Instructional Quality Commission recently heard a summary of information discussing the overall direction of the framework and public comment; the meeting ended after hearing from 41 commentators. The Commission decided that it would be better to take more time to consider the many suggestions and incorporate as many as possible in the next draft. The Commission will revisit the framework at a future meeting.

The ELD/ELA Framework has been released  

 

Please visit http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/rl/cf/ for more information. This Framework offers great insights and strategies for teachers working with English learners. One presentation is coming up on the framework on February 10 at the Fresno County Office of Education.

 

Green Ribbon Schools Award Program

California Math and Science Partnership (CaMSP) Program

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)

Professional Learning Opportunities

 

California Next Generation Science Standards (CA NGSS)     

 

Science teachers can take advantage of three professional learning opportunities to prepare them for implementing California's new science standards. The first "Next Generation Science Standards State Rollout Symposium" will be in San Jose on February 2-3, 2015. Two others are being planned for April 17-18 in San Diego, and June 1-2 in Ventura.
