The California Environmental Education Foundation (CEEF) is excited to offer an engaging three-Saturday Teacher Institute on "Best Practices of Environmental Education and Stewardship" utilizing investigation-focused pedagogy to maximize collaborative learning in place-based stewardship. The Institute features speakers from three nationally recognized EE curriculum projects: Project WILD, Project WET, and Project Learning Tree. In addition, there will be speakers from the highly regarded National Geographic Society, the Jane Goodall Institute, the K-12 Alliance as well as content experts from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP). The Institute will convene over three days, January 31, March 28, and May 16, and is open to all educators teaching students in grades 4-12 in the LADWP service area.
Participants will be eligible for a $600 stipend and three continuing education units (CEUs) through the University of California upon completion of the Institute and required activities. Institute co-sponsors include the LADWP, state Department of Water Resources, Sandia National Laboratories, and the Metropolitan Water District.
