Welcome to New CREEC Statewide Director: Shannon Gordon

Shannon Gordon began working for the California Department of Education in October 2013. Since that time she has been highly instrumental in the development, adoption, and rollout of the California Next Generation Science Standards. Her passion for, and background in, Environmental Education prompted her to apply for CDE’s Program Consultant position for Environmental Education. She has worked as an educator and program coordinator for a variety of Environmental Education Centers as well as taught three years of formal middle school science. Shannon received her Master of Arts studying environmental education organizations and their relationship with the formal education system.
