Hello Friends, What an exciting time of year! There are so many familiar places to visit to inspire us to continue our good works sharing environmental education. Anne Stephens just returned from the 43rd Annual North American Association for Environmental Education Conference in Ottawa, Ontario. This year's theme, "Environmental Education- Building Momentum for the Next Chapter", highlighted the renewed optimism that is spreading in the EE community. There is reason for optimism . . .
This is going to be an exciting autumn! The Next Generation Science Standards are being rolled-out and it is looking positive for Environmental Education, place-based science and outdoor education for all. If you haven’t been able to attend a NSGSS workshop yet, then be sure to put it on your ‘to-do’ list. . . .
Project Learning Tree is an award-winning environmental education program designed for teachers and other educators, parents, and community leaders working with youth from preschool through grade 12. We are fortunate to have some upcoming PLT workshops for High School teachers in our Region . . .
As this year’s Outdoor Education Teacher at Forest Ranch Charter School I get the pleasure of working with each and every student in the 1st through 7th grade classes as well as a wonderful group of dedicated staff and volunteers. Here are some highlights of the year so far . . .
