Grants MUST Be project-based, be performed by youth and have real environmental outcomes.
Grants from the Captain Planet Foundation are intended to:
�Provide hands-on environmental stewardship opportunities for youth, serve as a catalyst to getting environment-based education and inspire youth and communities to participate in community service through environmental stewardship activities

September 5, 2014 Deadline to Register for the Science Teacher Professional Learning Communities
The Fresno County Office of Education presents a 4-day workshop (grade level determines the one day every other month) focusing on science content and pedogogical strategies designed for EL Learners. Teachers will learn Common Core ELA/Science Standards, natural history notebooking techniques and develop instructional models and assessment for NGSS.

September 13, 2014 CVCUE Fall Common Core EdVenture Conference in Tulare
Central Valley Computer Using Educators (CVCUE) is pleased to announce their fall event at Sundale School in Tulare. CVCUE is dedicated to helping educators with integrating technology into their instruction and schools. This years fall event will focus on how technology can support the Common Core, Project Based Learning and Google Classroom. Keynote speaker, Lisa Highfill, is the K-12 Instructional Technology Coach for Pleasanton Unified, a Google Certified teacher and a YouTube Star Teacher. Watch her TEDx talk. Lisa will be joined by the Mariposa teacher whose 8th grade students launched a balloon into space, to film the earth's curvature.
