Connecting the Environment to Common Core and
Next Generation Science Standards

Now is the time for environmental education organizations to support and partner with schools as we all implement Common Core State Standards and plan for Next Generation Science Standards. Using the environment as the theme for connecting multiple subjects makes sense. Science, history, engineering, language arts and math are all brought to life when looked at through the lens of understanding the environment. And the resources are already available and easy to find at CREEC.org.

A Teacher Professional Development Experience Brings Results in the Classroom

The 33 students in Denise Blair’s 4-6th grade class sat cross-legged in a large, lopsided circle filling the classroom floor.
