Summertime Fun in the Great Outdoors!

Summertime is time to get outdoors! Going to the beach, mountains, nature trails, camping, you name it, California has it all. This summer make some time to get out there to enjoy your local environment. The more you get to know, the more you'll appreciate nature, and the more you will want to protect your local habitats. Through your experiences with your local ecosystems, you will understand the important ecosystem services that nature provides.
Enjoy your summer, even in your own backyard. There is the Great American Backyard Campout taking place on June 28th for families to participate in. Teachers, there are plenty of outdoor professional development opportunities too, like Forestry Institute for Teachers (FIT), Cal Alive! Summer Institute, School Garden Teacher Training, and Reaching Nature Connection Conference for Early Childhood Educators. Please take some time to look on the CREEC website and online calendar, both Statewide and Region 8, to find these and more. Enjoy!
