A Message From Our Statewide Coordinator
Teachers dedicate the school year to their students, but they also need to feed their own love of learning. If you are a teacher, now is the time to start thinking about professional development opportunities that will recharge your batteries and get you outside this summer! Take advantage of statewide opportunities such as the Forestry Institute for Teachers (Project FIT) at four different locations, the Floodplains Ecology Institutes, or the Cal Alive! Programs offered by the California Institute for Biodiversity, just to name a few. Find registration information and much more at www.creec.org. Keep reading to learn about many more regional opportunities in this newsletter!
The Floodplains and Delta Ecology Institute pairs a day-long tour through the Delta with EEI curriculum and Project WET to offer meaningful activities and interesting content learning for teachers. A $200 stipend and one unit of credit. . .
Every sixth grader in Manteca Unified School District gets to attend this big party in honor of the environment of our planet. Activities are planned for the students. . .
Gardens To Grow In: Bringing Hands-On Science and Nutrition Education to Students in the Mother Lode
