On your mark, get set... READ and LEARN at MCPL this summer!

On Your Mark_ Get Set... Read_
This summer, along with reading, children will be able to complete learning tracks that have been created for their specific age group: babies, preschool, kids, and teens. Each age group has four tracks: Move, Explore, Create, and Connect. Online badges are earned for each track completed.

MCPL Moving Forward

The newly refreshed Kensington Park branch reopened to the public on March 28, 2016. On April 2, representatives of Montgomery County and MCPL held a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially welcome the community back to the branch.

FOL Happenings

On April 9, Friends of the Library, Montgomery County celebrated the Magic of Libraries at our second annual Library After Dark fundraiser. The event provides an opportunity for library supporters to come together to celebrate how our collaborative partnerships help our public library system to remain one of the leading library systems in the country. Regina Holyfield-Jewett was honored as the 2016 Library Professional of the Year.

Library Board Happenings

County Executive Isiah Leggett designated April 16, 2016 as Maggie Nightingale Day in Montgomery County. Ms. Nightingale served on the Library Board for many years and is currently a member of the Poolesville Library Advisory Committee (LAC).
