Connected Cloud Summit
I attended the Connected Cloud Summit on September 18 and it was very well attended. Several Boston based companies that are active in the Internet of Things space were well represented on the panels including PTC, Logmein and Schneider Electric. Schneider Electric is an example of one of the types of opportunities in IoT, the opportunity for established manufacturing companies to introduce new services based on their existing products. There are a lot of good videos from the conference basically covering all of the panels and keynotes but if you can only watch one I would recommend viewing the video on IoT Enablement Technologies & Platforms. There were several panelists with strong opinions including Don Dodge from Google. This panel talked about some of the network technologies that will need to develop to enable the IoT.

Customer Success
This article, "The Most Common Mistake in SaaS Sales Strategies", in Forbes is an excellent explanation of why it makes sense to have a customer success organization. Coincidentally, there is a conference in the Boston area on customer success with many customer success experts on the agenda. It is called "Deciphering Customer Success" and it is free to customer success executives but others can also pay to attend. You can register here. Once again it's great to have a conference like this in Boston.
