Newsletter

February, 2012

Greetings!

Welcome to the February Cirrostratus Group Newsletter. In this issue I've highlighted an article I wrote on SaaS account growth, a great book on the early days at Google, and an interview on SaaS inside sales best practices.

Next month I will talk about the presentation I am doing on DEVOPS at SaaS University.

Please contact me if I can be of assistance to you or your organization. I would be very interested in hearing about your plans for the Cloud.

Three Steps to Improved SaaS Account Growth

One of the results from the recent Cirrostratus Group survey on the Software as a Service Customer Experience was that 78% of providers are happy with their customer retention rate. However, only 36% percent of respondents were happy with the growth of each account.

Sandhill.com published an article that I wrote on how to diagnose and improve your SaaS account growth challenges, Three Steps to Improved SaaS Account Growth. You can also download a copy of the article here. If you have any challenges in this area you'll find this article helpful.

I'm Feeling Lucky

I recently read the book "I'm Feeling Lucky: The Confessions of Google Employee Number 59" by Douglas Edwards. One of my blog posts this month was a review of this book. Bottom line, it was a fun and informative book which I enjoyed reading. Put it on your reading list!

Best Practices for Managing SaaS Inside Sales

I believe that you can always learn a lot from the best practices being used at successful companies. Hubspot is a fast growing and successful SaaS company that provides marketing solutions.

David Skok, General Partner at Matrix Partners interviewed Mark Roberge, VP of sales at Hubspot specifically on the topic of SaaS inside sales best practices in use at Hubspot. You will find several practical suggestions on SaaS inside sales in this interview.
