Northbridge Venture Partners and several collaborators have developed the Future of Cloud Computing Survey 2012. This survey was also done last year so it will be interesting to see how the results have changed. The purpose is to understand and potentially predict the trend that will significantly change cloud adoption. If you have not participated in this survey I would encourage you to do so and you can connect to the survey here.
The Future of Cloud Computing is a website sponsored by Northbridge and has a variety of resources and blog postings on Cloud Computing. It's worth taking a look.

Escape Velocity by Geoffrey A. Moore
I had the opportunity to see Geoffrey Moore speak last week. He is a great speaker, candid, interactive and willing to discuss new ideas with his audience. The tagline on the title of his newest book, Escape Velocity, is "Free Your Company's Future from the Pull of the Past" and it is really about innovation and change in successful larger technology organizations. He talked about various kinds of power that an organization has including category power, company power, and market power. The two areas of power that resonated with me were offer power and execution power since that is where we can make significant impacts. I have not read the book yet but I have put it on my reading list. If you ever get a chance to hear Geoffrey speak, take advantage of the opportunity, it will be worthwhile. |
