Lisa Cook is the CEO of KidSwim, founded in 2001. Lisa has a degree in both history and secondary education from LMU, with Masters coursework completed from NYU in Social Work and Public Policy. Lisa has been involved in aquatics professionally since age 18, as an instructor and lifeguard and eventually, as aquatic director at the Westside (89-95) and Santa Monica (95-97) YMCA. Lisa has been the aquatic venue director at the Summer Special Olympics, and has taught swimming in Japan, New York City and Maine. Lisa has been conducting water safety education classes for over a decade, talking to educators and parent groups about all things water related, in hopes that all parents remain vigilant about their children's safety, but minus the anxiety that so many parents feel about this issue. In that Lisa is a parent of two boys, her primary concern is always, first and foremost, the safety of all children when it comes to water.

Cara Natterson, MD is a board certified pediatrician and member of the AAP. She was in practice at 10th Street Pediatrics for many years before moving on to a career in writing and consulting. Cara has published three health and parenting books, the most recent of which came out this past October. She is a blogger on sites such as HuffingtonPost.com and Intent.com, and she has appeared as an expert on TV, print, online, and speaking engagements. In her consulting practice, Worry Proof Consulting, Cara works with parents to review medical issues and wade though conflicting research or advice. She lives here in LA with her husband and two children.
