| |
Saturday, June 29th from 1-4pm
with Jennifer Waldburger, LCSW
Price: $145 per individual
or $195 per couple Ages: 4 to 18 Months
Babies love to learn - and when it comes to sleep, most babies learn very quickly once they have the right tools and supports! In this workshop, we'll provide you with in-depth, personalized information about your child's age, developmental needs, and personality. Then, we'll help you create a customized, step-by-step plan for solving nap and nighttime sleep problems that incorporates
your family's needs and preferences. We do not believe in letting achild "cry it out" alone - instead, we help parents find a middle ground between allowing their child to learn and offering love and support throughout the process. Our methods work well whether you are cosleeping or whether your child is sleeping independently. Let us help restore balance and harmony to your family! Learn more...

Ask Your Childcare Questions Here:
Visit our Facebook page to ask Westside Nannies your most burning
nanny-related questions. Each week, they will answer questions featured in our Class Newsletter published at the end of the week!
This week's question & answer:
Q: Our nanny's eating habits are different from our own, and sometimes she prepares unhealthy food for our children or eats bad food in front of them, even though these foods are customary to her culture. What can we say to her about enforcing nutrition without offending her culture or beliefs about food?
A: While this can be an awkward discussion to initiate with your nanny, your children's nutritional intake should always be a priority. Set aside a time to speak to your nanny privately at the end of her workday. Gently let her know that while you wholeheartedly respect her culture and unique food choices, you have noticed that your kids aren't getting the foods you require them to eat. Without focusing on her food choices and what she eats, have the conversation revolve around what your children are eating. If she is feeding your children healthy food but still eating junk food in front of them, you can also be candid about the fact that part of her job as nanny is to be a positive role model, even at mealtime. Finally, if your nanny seems to be uneducated about healthy, nutritious food choices, offer to pay for her to take a cooking course. At the end of the conversation, point out something she is excelling at to leave on a positive note.
