Cold Sores, Canker Sores and Gluten
This month I write about two disorders that some might consider trivial, mere nuisances to be quickly forgotten - canker sores and cold sores. These painful and annoying eruptions may, however, be a clue that something else is amiss. Canker sores and cold sores are both very common and frequently confused. Patients ask, "Everyone gets them, don't they?" Read more

Living up to her motto can present a challenge to her baking skills. Michelle told me about an order for an upcoming wedding cake: "The bride needed a beautifully decorated cake that was not only gluten-free but also free of milk, egg, grain, soy and corn. Read more

We are seeking a Napa support group
co-leader
The Celiac Community Foundation of Northern California runs a quarterly support group at Whole Foods in Napa. We are seeking a kind, organized and responsible local resident to co-lead the group.
You do not need to be an "expert," and you can be recently diagnosed or the parent of a child with celiac disease. You do need to adhere to our mission of evidence-based support.
It's light duty, well supported by our foundation, and it is an essential role in our support network. For more information, please contact Jennifer Iscol jiscol@celiaccommunity.org.
