The Inn on Randolph in Napa
By Jennifer Iscol

Inn on Randolph The hottest inn in Napa Valley just happens to be 100% gluten-free. The Inn on Randolph, a boutique bed & breakfast, rocketed to the number one spot on Trip Advisor in less than a year, after owner Karen Lynch bought the property in 2011 and closed it for nine months to gut it from the foundation to the roof. The result is a sophisticated and delightful property on one acre of gorgeous gardens. The property boasts five rooms in the historic Victorian inn, plus five rooms in three cottages built in the 1930s. The new kitchen has never known a speck of gluten.  Read more

By Amy Burkhart, MD, RD

I have many patients in my office who suffer from migraine headaches and are looking for solutions to their symptoms. I would like to shed some light on this common malady and offer tips to aid you in limiting or eliminating migraines headaches.

They found that all three groups had a significant increase in migraine headaches compared to the general population.  Read more

Gluten-Free Labeling Update

White House
 Exciting news!

Yes, we know government regulations can be quite boring. But this one's not! In February, the Department of Health and Human Services (which oversees the Food and Drug Administration) finally sent the gluten-free labeling rule to the White House (Office of Management and Budget) for final review. This is the last stage of what has been a 10-year process.
We don't know how long the final review will take, but as the regulation is voluntary and relatively uncontroversial, we are hoping it will sail through. So still waiting for final publication, but celebrating this promising news while we wait!
Read a article about it in The Hill.

Mark is a landscape contractor who launched a second career after he was diagnosed with Crohn's disease; friends who tasted the new gluten-free recipes he developed to satisfy his own cravings encouraged him to go into business.
