 Happy Birthday Juliette Gordon Low!
October 31st, we celebrated the founder of Girl Scouts, Juliette "Daisy" Gordon Low's birthday. Born in 1860 in Savannah, Georgia, yesterday was her 153rd birthday!
Juliette Gordon Low said "My purpose... to go on with my heart and soul, devoting all my energies to Girl Scouts, and heart and hand with them, we will make our lives and the lives of the future girls happy, healthy and holy."
Thank you Troop 2772 for this art poster we found in front of our Fresno Gold Mine store the day after the Juliette Low Birthday open House.

Troop Happenings
Brownie Troop 3005 from Lindsay in Tulare County earned their painting badge. The girls chose to make a mural about their favorite holiday. Square canvases were used for mood paintings and other paintings were done with a box, marbles and straws.

Troop 2359 from Visalia did an amazing job earning their Bronze Award. These girls chose to paint the lobby of the Samaritan Clinic. They set a goal to earn $300 from items purchased at a yard sale they held, as well as write a letter to Lowe's requesting paint and supplies. In the end, the Juniors exceeded their goal raising $358, while they learned to care for their community.

Troop 216 from Reedley had a Girls and Siblings outing to a pumpkin patch for their bridging ceremony. A fun outing with some good exercise!

AnneMarie and Zoë of Troop 2917 recently completed their Silver Award project. They wanted to get the word out to medical professionals about a relatively new physical therapy procedure option, girls can use during the "watch & wait" and "brace"
phases of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Another Girl Scout, Beth from Troop 551 completed her Silver Award. She created a video to explain her project. The video can be found here.
