Girl Scout adult volunteers and Ambassadors - take a day off for yourself and enjoy a series of workshops on interesting topics such as mini herb gardens, celebrating cultures, Girl Scout history, trash to treasure, shoe art, SWAPs, macrame jewelry and cupcake decorating. Full list here.

Imagine having a career in STEM*
For the second year in a row,we present the Chevron Cares about STEM* Careers Workshops for Girl Scouts. Learn about these in-demand careers from local professionals working in STEM* fields (*Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) in Kern County.The workshops are made possible by grant funding provided by Chevron's Community Spirit Award.

Troop Happenings
Troop 3113 did a "Get Moving" special interest booth at the Big Fresno Fair, which highlighted their recently completed Get Moving Journey. Their awesome booth won Best of Show!
Troop 2874 did a food drive and collected 238 cans which they donated to the Valley Food Bank. This helped them finish their Brownie Quest Journey to earn their Summit Award!

Youth Exchange Program 2014-2015
The Rotary Clubs of District 5230 sponsor local area High School students to study abroad and live with host families in a foreign country for an academic school year program. Students must presently be attending High School and cannot be younger than 15-years of age and not older than 18 � at the beginning of their year abroad. Troop 2486 invites sister Girl Scouts to participate in their Journey Workshop Saturday, December 14 in Bakersfield. Time slots available for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors. Your Girl Scout's participation can help send the troop to New York! All the information can be found here.

Help a sister Girl Scout's Gold Award project!
Girl Scout Taylor from Troop 888 in Central Indiana is asking for her sister Girl Scouts and the nation's help. For her Gold Award, she wants to raise awareness about HPV and its prevention. She has created a Facebook group and Twitter for her project and asks you to "Like" and share these pages to help strike out HPV. Find her flyer here.

STEM opportunity for GS Troops
Who said going to the orthodontist wasn't fun? If your Girl Scout is considering dentistry as a future career, your troop can tour Dr. Brian Thurman's orthodontic office in Fresno.
