Grace H. from Ridgecrest is currently working on her Gold Award project, the Read 2 Me program. Grace held a reading time for local children where each child was able to pick a book to keep. Do you know how many children aren't read to every night? Click here to find out!

Never been a Girl Scout? It's not too late.
Girl Scouts come in all age groups; all you have to do is want to make a difference in the lives of girls. As a member, you will make new friends, become closer to old ones, and gain contacts within the community. Adults 18 and older can join Girl Scouts to serve as a mentor, speak at a Girl Scout event, volunteer in a troop or group, or simply say
"I believe in the Girl Scout mission and want to show my support by becoming a member."

Quiet on the set. and ACTION!
Emily L. from Troop 2486 in Bakersfield successfully applied for a Girl Scouts destinations scholarship. This is what she told us about her trip:
"This summer I got a once and a lifetime chance to go to Hollywood and experience the life of film making. This week-long destination literally changed my life! I met so many wonderful people, toured the famous Warner Brothers, and made a short film from scratch. We learned how to write the script, map out the shots, buy the props, and film the entire thing. It took the whole week. I couldn't ask for anything more than to stay longer."
Congratulations Emily on your experience! To view Emily's video project, go to vimeo.com/71294361
