It's the Season of Awards!
Girl Scouts and Girl Scout Troops are doing great community service as they complete their Gold and Bronze award projects!
For her Gold Award, Callie Q. wanted to educate pre-teen girls of the changes they can expect to see as they grow into a young women. Callie said girls are surrounded by false information and worked to make a difference in their lives.
Marissa Y. worked with the Children's Hospital Central California for her Gold Award to create a library for the patients to use in the Child Life Room. In the end she labeled, sorted and organized over 1,000 fiction and non-fiction children's books.
Troop 2930 collected clothes, shoes, toys and school supplies for foster children in Fresno County for their Bronze Award.
Thank you, Girl Scouts!

Shaver Lake Adventure! P.S. We need volunteers
Are you a fan of the outdoors, think you can withstand anything, even as a contestant on Survivor?? Shaver Lake will begin filming a reality Survivor-like show starting July 30, and we are looking for the same type of dedicated individuals !
If you are interested in sharing your knowledge about the history of the Central Sierra mountain area, consider becoming Girl Scout Volunteer Docents for The Central Sierra Historical Society in Shaver Lake.
Girl Scout volunteer docents will help us provide Girl Scout
programs that fit into our badge workshops, and also help plan for girls' activities at the museum at least four times a year. Girl Scout Trainer experience is a plus!
If you are interested or for more information: please call (800) 490-8653 ext. 130 or email volunteers@girlscoutsccs.org.
