packages, close to our goal of 1,090,000!!!
Also, close to 6,500 Operation Gratitude cookie packages have been sold and will be donated to military personnel serving overseas. Our goal is 10,000!

2013 Women Inspiring Girls will be honoring three dynamic women who are an inspiration to their generation and to generations to follow. Our Girl Scouts Gold Awardees are doing BIG things!
Congratulations to Chelsea West, who was crowned Miss Central Valley's Outstanding Teen 2013 and will be in the Miss California Outstanding Teen Pageant. Chelsea earned her Gold Award for her Walk of Hope project, which created awareness about suicide prevention in Tulare. She will be an emcee at our Women Inspiring Girls luncheon, April 19 in Fresno.
Also, congratulations to Girl Scout Haven Hubbard from Hanford for winning the Scout of the Year Award for VFW Benicia Post 3928! Her name will be submitted for the VFW State Scout of the Year award. Haven also won Soroptimist International of Hanford's Violet Richardson Award for her volunteer service to make her community and her world a better place, and designated Camp El-O-Win as her Charity of Choice for this award - read about it here. Haven earned her Gold Award for a projecting making sit-upons for Special Olympics participants. Catch up with our Gold Awardee Ashley's adventures at college, here. Ashley's Gold Award project in 2011 was a light pollution awareness campaign.
Girl Scouts Forever Green
takes place from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM on March 23. Can you imagine looking at a vision of lights going out through each time zone across the world one hour at a time? By turning off your lights for just 60 minutes on March 23 you can take positive action for the environment and inspire others to do the same!
SAVE THE DATE for the first annual Kerman Earth Day on Sunday, April 21, 12:30 PM - 4:00 PM at Lions Park. For their Alcoa-sponsored Together Greening environmental project, Troop 3100 has partnered with the City of Kerman's Parks & Recreation department. A city-wide litter clean-up will kick-off from our Earth Day event, which will feature family-friendly outdoor activities. Girl Scouts can earn two fun patches for recycling and learning about Earth Hour!

Program Aides learn to work directly with younger girls under the supervision of an adult Girl Scout in settings such as Troop activities, Council or Service Unit events/day camps. To earn a PA pin, you must:
-Earn one LiA Award
-Complete a GSCCS Program Aide Core Training course
-Work directly with younger girls over six activity sessions
