| Tianyu Semiconductor Adds Additional P+E Purifier for Silicon Carbide Epi Expansion | | |
Power & Energy Inc. (P+E), a manufacturer of micro-channel hydrogen gas purifiers, has provided a second hydrogen purifier to Dongguan Tianyu Semiconductor Technology Co. Ltd. The purifier is installed to support expansion at Tianyu's facility in Dongguan City, Guangdong province, China.
According to Sun Guosheng, a researcher at Tianyu "We have seen excellent results from the Power and Energy hydrogen purifier for our Aixtron silicon carbide (SiC) reactors. We are pleased to add another purifier for our capacity expansion."
The compact PE9000C Series purifier purifies hydrogen used in the Aixtron MOCVD epitaxial growth process for Silicon Carbide wafers. Oxygen, moisture and nitrogen contamination must be completely eliminated to parts-per-billion levels in SiC growth processes.

Upcoming Presentations on H2 Analyzer and Steam Reformer Products at AICHE Pittsburgh Meeting | | |
P+E will be making two presentations at the upcoming AICHE annual meeting in Pittsburgh, PA. The first presentation, "New Sensor for Measuring Trace Impurities in Ultrapure Hydrogen", will introduce our new HEMS (Hydrogen Emission Mass Spectrometer) analyzer. The analyzer uses a unique, patent pending method to measure all impurities in hydrogen with limits of detection of 0.001 ppb. This instrument will have a range of applications in semiconductor and fuel cell industries.

The second presentation, "Process Intensification for Hydrogen Generation using Micro-Channel Steam Reforming", will discuss advances in the development of micro-channel steam reformer technology. P+E's patent pending technology greatly improves thermal transport while the eliminating thermal stress issues that have impacted existing steam reformer designs. This high efficiency, low cost design will open new markets for on-site hydrogen generation and has the potential to achieve the Department of Energy cost target of $1/kg hydrogen.
The AICHE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers) meeting is October 28 - November 2 at the Pittsburgh Convention Center. It is the premier educational forum for chemical engineers.

| Recent Shipments Deliver 'The Purest Hydrogen on the Planet' to Auto Fueling, LED and SiC Applications | |
P+E continues to supply purifiers for many applications across the compound semiconductor industry. Large purifiers were recently shipped to customers for automotive hydrogen fueling, LED fabrication and SiC epitaxy production. The varied applications for our hydrogen purifiers reflect the growing acceptance of our micro-channel palladium membrane technology throughout the industry. Power+Energy purifiers are often selected over competing Pd purifiers and over other purification technologies including heated getter and regenerable catalytic. Recent shipments to Europe, China and the US of our new PE9000C compact purifier are part of our continued growth for a variety of high-purity applications.

S3 Alliance, P+E's European distributor, will exhibit at Semicon Europa on October 9-11. Information on our hydrogen purifiers will be available at S3's booth at Messe Dresden, Hall 1, Booth 1466.
P+E will also participate in the International Workshop on Nitride Semiconductors (IWN) in Sapporo, Japan on October 14-19. Meetings will be held on the topics of Growth, Optical Devices, Optoelectronics Properties and Electronic Devices. Over 600 attendees are expected to participate in this international conference.
